The DE Advocay Toolkit ha been prepared by the Council Resolution Working Group of the first phase of DEEEP, to support the National Platforms in their advocacy work regarding Developing Education.

Through the Toolkit, the Council Resolution in Support of Development Education, adopted by the Council of Ministers in 2001, becomes a powergull advocacy tool to put pressure on national and European policy-makers to live up their commitments. At the same time, it enables National Platforms of NGOs to share experience on how to implement te Resolution.

 

The toolkit is composed of:

• A background presentation of the Council resolution, its contents and some possible suggestions to implement it,
• Guidelines/tips for effective lobbying
• A handbook gathering national experiences and practices (succesful or not) explaining how European countries lobby their institutions in favour of Development Education.
• A work-in-progress definition of Development Education
• Relevant bibliography.

 

All these parts have been formated in Power Point to ease the use during trainings, meetings, seminars.

The toolkit is YOURS!! If you wish, you can translte it and adapt it in other languages. Just make a reference to DEEEP, and send us the transletd version. We will upload it on the website, so that other NGOs from your country can use it as well!
