This section of the website seeks to offer some general information on Development Education across Europe, at both national and European level.

 

 

Though CONCORD DE Forum agreed in 2004 on a common definition, several National Platforms (NPs) are still using  their own definition; these definitions are all quite similar, and mainly differ because of the historical and cultural background of each country.

To learn more on each single country and development education, we have launched in 2003 a bi-ammual survey on DE, which aims at understanding the different DE trends in all EU Member States. The questionnaire has been circulated to all NPs in 2003, 2005, 2007 and 2009. The next survey will be carried out in 2011.

Finally to get a general overview it is also important to know what policies are adopted at local, national and European level, with regards to development education.
