Evaluation of impact of development education activities

The evaluation of impact of DE activities is at the core debate of Development Education in Europe.

In its first phase, DEEEP contributed to it trough e-discussions, workshops and 3 regional seminars. Practionners and experts saherd and discussed examples of practice, identified and presented an analysis of methodologies used to evaluate development education activities. This collection is an open toolkit, to be further developed by the members of DEEEP.

Outcomes of the English speaking group

Focussing on the practice of peer learning, colleagues in Ireland, the Netherlands and the UK participated in an e-discussion to explore and analyse the methods used in this context for evaluation and made recommendations fr the effective evaluation of DE/DA activities. This discussion was run from September to November 2005.

Outcomes of the Finnish speaking group

Practitioners in Estonia, Finland and Sweden attended a two-day vent in Helsinki on October 6-7 2005, to explore definitions of impact assessment in the context of development education. examples of best practice were gathered.

Outcomes of the French speaking group

Practitioners of De in NGOs in Belgium, France, Luxembourg , Portugal and Switzerland, held a workshop in Brussels on 5-6 October 2005, to discuss and analyse practices and methods in the evaluation of DE.
