Here you will find all DEEEP's thematic dossiers on several DE related topics raging from quality and impact, schools role in DE and national strategies. This thematic dossier is one of the first of its kind at a European level. Development education aims to support youth and children to increase their awareness and understanding of the interdependent and unequal world in which we live. It challenges perceptions of the world and encourages youth and children to act for a more just and equal society at a national and an international level. 2011 DEAR matters: Strategic approaches to development education in Europe A thematic dossier that documents various approaches to development education strategies, highlighting successes but also challenges. National strategies are discussed through the examples of Czech Republic, Portugal, Poland and UK. It also contains a proposition for a European development education strategy and a reflection from Norway on the place of DEAR within the aid system. A thematic dossier on the European NGOs Code of Conduct on Messages and Images. Through series of best practices, the Code and its implemenation is explained to the readers. Challenges of the use of such tool are also explained. As annex, the outcomes of a survey launched in December 2010 and addressed to National Platforms communication officers, to discover the level of awareness of the existence and use of such tool. 2011 Quality and Impact in Development Education A thematic dossier focusing on quality and impact in the field of development education. This dossier has been produced to support the participants in the DESS 2011, but is also of interest for the wider DEAR Community. A thematic dossier on the cooperation between NGOs and Schools was produced. Such publication was initially used as a "background" documentation for the participants of the 2010 Summer School, providing them with key elements and links on the overall topic of the capacity building event. During the first phase of DEEEP, a thematic dossier focusing on the "Future of European Development NGOs and the Role of Development Education" was drafted and printed. |
